Welcome to Dictiva

Dictiva is a governance platform that gets you from zero to a published governance program in under 5 minutes. Instead of starting from a blank page, you choose a pre-built governance template tailored to your domain and maturity level, review the statements inside, and launch.

This guide walks you through the initial setup.

Create Your Account

1. Go to app.dictiva.com/sign-up
2. Enter your work email address
3. Click the magic link in your inbox (or set a password)
4. You're in

No credit card required. The free Community tier includes 1 domain, 1 assembly, 5 governance statements, and library preview.

Set Up Your Workspace

When you sign in for the first time, the onboarding wizard guides you through four steps:

1. Name Your Organization

Enter your company name. This creates your tenant — an isolated workspace where all your governance data lives. Each tenant has its own statements, assemblies, users, and settings.

2. Choose Your Domain and Maturity Level

Select the governance area your organization needs to focus on — Data Governance, AI Governance, Information Security, Privacy, or Data Management.

Then assess your current maturity level. Three cards describe what each level looks like for your chosen domain:

• Crawl — Establishing the basics. Roles being defined, policies informal.
• Walk — Building accountability. Formal governance with defined processes.
• Run — Measuring and optimizing. Automated monitoring with quantified outcomes.

Your selection determines which governance template you receive.

3. Choose Your Governance Template

Based on your domain and maturity level, Dictiva presents a pre-built governance policy template. Each template contains 5-8 curated statements — expert-authored governance requirements that form a coherent policy document.

Expand the template card to preview every statement before selecting it.

4. Review and Launch

Review your selected template with all its statements. You can:

• Deselect any statements that do not apply to your organization
• See the full statement text and modality (must/should/may)
• Confirm your plan usage (statements, assemblies, domains)

Click Launch my program to create your governance workspace. You land directly on your new assembly — a complete governance document ready to share with your team.

Advanced: Statement-First Onboarding

Prefer granular control? Add ?flow=statements to the onboarding URL to use the statement-first path, where you browse the library preview and, on Professional+, adopt individual statements before building assemblies manually.
