Your Governance Task Inbox
Governance programs generate follow-up work constantly — overdue acknowledgments, expiring statements, new regulatory changes, compliance gaps. Dictiva's Actions page centralizes all of this into a single task inbox so nothing falls through the cracks.
Action Sources
Actions are created from multiple sources:

| Smart alerts | A statement hasn't been reviewed in 12 months |
| AI-suggested | The AI assistant identifies a gap in your coverage |
This means your task inbox automatically surfaces work that needs attention, even if you didn't know to look for it.
Smart Alerts
Smart alerts are threshold-based notifications that create action items when conditions are met:
- Stale statements — Statements not reviewed within a configured period
- Unmapped requirements — Regulatory requirements without statement mappings
- Overdue acknowledgments — Past-due acknowledgment responses
- Coverage drops — Compliance coverage falling below a threshold
Alert thresholds are configurable per tenant in Settings > Alert Settings.
Task Lifecycle
Every action follows a simple lifecycle:
- Created — The action appears in the inbox (new, unread)
- In Progress — Someone is actively working on it
- Completed — The task is done and recorded
Completed actions remain visible in the history for audit purposes.
Filtering and Sorting
The actions view supports:
- Status filter — Show only open, in-progress, or completed actions
- Source filter — Show only manual, system, or AI-generated actions
- Assignee filter — Show actions assigned to you or to specific team members
- Priority sort — High-priority items (overdue, compliance-critical) surface first
- Date sort — Newest or oldest first
Creating Manual Actions
To create a task for yourself or a colleague:
- Navigate to Actions in the sidebar
- Click New Action
- Enter a title and description
- Optionally assign to a user and set a due date
- Click Create
Manual actions integrate with the same tracking and lifecycle as system-generated ones.
