Using the Library
Preview, search, and adopt governance statements from Dictiva's curated library — 10,000+ pre-written requirements across 32 domains and four maturity levels.
The Governance Library
Dictiva's library contains 10,000+ professionally curated governance statements spanning 32 domains and multiple maturity levels. Instead of writing every requirement from scratch, you can preview available library statements, then adopt unlocked items into your workspace and customize them for your organization.
Browsing the Library
Navigate to Library in the sidebar to browse available statements in the library.
Filtering
Use the filters to narrow the library:
- Domain — View statements in a specific governance area (e.g., Information Security)
- Maturity Level — Filter by Foundational, Intermediate, or Advanced
- Search — Full-text search across statement titles and body text
Domain Availability
The domains available to you depend on your plan:

| Enterprise | All 32 domains |
You can change your selected domains in Settings > Domains at any time.
Adopting Statements
Statement adoption is available on Professional and higher plans. Community tenants can preview the library before upgrading.
When you find a library statement that fits your governance program:
- Click on the statement to view its details
- Review the full text, domain, maturity level, and regulatory mappings
- Click Adopt to copy it into your workspace
What Happens When You Adopt
- A copy of the statement is created in your tenant
- The copy is linked to the library original for reference
- You can edit the copy — your changes don't affect the library
- Regulatory mappings from the library are preserved
Customizing Adopted Statements
After adoption, you might want to:
- Adjust the language to match your organization's terminology
- Change the maturity level to match your current capabilities
- Add specifics like timeframes, roles, or tool names that are unique to your org
- Adjust the modality (must → should) for areas where you're still building toward full compliance
Collections
Library statements are organized into collections — curated groups of related statements that form a coherent governance module.
Example collections:
- "SOC 2 Starter Kit" — 50 statements covering core SOC 2 trust service criteria
- "GDPR Data Protection Essentials" — 30 statements for GDPR compliance
- "Information Security Foundation" — 40 statements for a basic infosec program
Collections make it easy to adopt a complete set of statements for a specific use case.
Regulatory Mappings
Library statements include mappings to 57 regulatory frameworks. When you view a library statement, you can see:
- Which specific regulatory requirements it satisfies
- The regulation name, article/section number, and requirement text
- The mapping confidence (direct, partial, or related)
These mappings are preserved when you adopt the statement, giving you instant visibility into your compliance coverage.
Contributing
Currently, the library is curated by the Dictiva team. In the future, organizations will be able to contribute statements back to the library (with review and approval) to help the governance community grow.
