How Plan Limits Work

Dictiva enforces plan limits through its entitlement system. When you reach a limit, the platform guides you to upgrade rather than silently failing.

Numeric Limits

When you hit a numeric limit (e.g., 5 statements on Community), the create action is blocked with a clear message showing your current usage, the limit, and which plan unlocks more capacity.

  • Community: Hard cap — actions are blocked at the limit
  • Professional and Business: Soft cap — you receive a warning near the limit with a brief grace period
  • Enterprise: Warning only — no hard limits, usage is monitored

Feature Gates

Features like API access, SSO, and bulk acknowledgements are either available or not on your plan. Attempting to use a gated feature returns a message indicating which plan tier is required.

Domain Gating

Your plan tier controls how many governance domains you can select. This directly affects what you see in the library:

  • Community (1 domain): Choose your most important area — e.g., Information Security
  • Professional (2 domains): Add a second area — e.g., Privacy & Data Protection
  • Business (5 domains): Cover your core program areas
  • Enterprise (all 32): Full library access across every governance domain

Domain selections can be changed at any time in Settings. Changing domains refreshes which library content appears in your workspace.

Managing Your Subscription

Upgrading

  1. Go to Settings > Billing
  2. Click Upgrade Plan
  3. Select your target tier
  4. Complete payment via Stripe
  5. New limits and features activate immediately

Downgrading

When you downgrade, Dictiva shows you exactly what you will lose — which features will be disabled and which content exceeds the new plan's limits. Existing content is never deleted on downgrade, but you may lose the ability to create new items until you are within limits.

Payment Methods

Dictiva uses Stripe for all payment processing. You can:

  • Pay with credit or debit card
  • View invoices and payment history
  • Update your payment method
  • Download receipts for accounting

All payment data is handled by Stripe — Dictiva never stores card numbers.

Enterprise Plans

Enterprise pricing is custom-quoted based on your organization's size and requirements. Enterprise includes everything in Business plus:

  • Unlimited users and content
  • All 32 governance domains
  • Audit log export
  • Outbound webhooks for integration
  • Custom branding on published documents
  • Dedicated support
